The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority anticipates issuing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Requests for Qualifications Information (RFQIs) for the following major Construction and Design projects throughout 2012. Please note that this is not necessarily a complete list of projects that will be issued during this time period, and all dates are estimates and subject to change at any time.
First Quarter 2012
Conversion of Vehicle Storage Building to Vehicle Maintenance Facility 4, Dulles Airport

Description: This project will retrofit an existing vehicle storage building to a vehicle maintenance facility that includes all required supporting utilities, life safety and code improvements. |

Dedicated Fire System Modifications, National Airport
|
Description: This project will install an appropriately rated Surge Tank and associated piping within the Dedicated Fire System building to mitigate surge conditions within the system. Work includes concrete, installation of a surge tank having approximately 1,500 gallon capacity, modification or installation of sections of 12 to 16” diameter water piping and large diameter valves, insulation of piping and components, relocation of electrical panels, instrumentation & controls, and commissioning of the system. |

Fire Alerting Systems for Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Stations, Dulles Airport

Description: This project will provide and install new fire alerting system within two Airports Authority ARFF stations. The fire alerting systems will be integrated with the Airport Authority’s Intergraph Computer Aided Dispatch System and will include head end electronics, bunkroom lighting systems, engine bay displays, TV interfaces, wire and conduit. |
