Taxis to/from Washington, DC Now Transitioning to Metered Fares

Washington, D.C.-licensed cabs are transitioning from the use of odometers to the use of meters to determine fares. Some of these cabs may be without a meter until the transition is complete. Click here for the latest chart of approximate taxi fares.

Ninth Annual DC Public Schools Citywide Student Art Exhibition

Over 300 pieces of art from students of the DC Public Schools are on display on the Arrivals level of Terminals B and C across from the bag claim areas. The art includes drawings, paintings, models, collages, and prints. The exhibit’s theme, "From Perception to Expression" is reflected in the works of students from more than 75 schools - kindergarten through 12th grade. The exhibition runs through June 1. Registered Traveler Program Begins Operating

Verified Identity Pass Inc. began operating a Registered Traveler program at both Reagan National and Dulles International in March. The program is designed to enhance customer service and improve screening wait times. Enrollees in the program will have access to registered traveler security lanes at all other U.S. airports with similar programs. Please click here for more information or to enroll.

Reagan National Airport Wins Airport Best Concession Awards

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport has been selected by Airport Revenue News to receive two awards. In the Medium Size Airport division, Reagan National won awards for being the Airport with the "Best Concession Program Design" and "Airport with the Best Concessions Management Team."

New USO Lounge Now Open

The United Service Organizations have a new USO Lounge at Reagan National serving military personnel and their families. The lounge is located on the Main level of Terminal A across from Lost and Found and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, please click here.

Restrictions Regarding Traveling with Lithium Batteries

As of January 1, 2008, passengers may not pack loose (or “spare”) lithium batteries in checked luggage. Instead these batteries must be installed in your carry-on electronic device or packaged to reduce the risk of overheating. Passengers may not bring more than two spare lithium batteries on board the flight. More details are available at the U.S. Department of Transportation website (click here).

Major Road Project near Reagan National

The National Park Service is reconstructing a bridge on the George Washington Parkway about a mile north of Reagan National Airport. The 3-year roadway project began in January 2008. Two lanes of Parkway traffic are to remain open in each direction during rush hours but lane closures could occur at other times.
