Upcoming Opportunities - Major Construction and Design
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority anticipates issuing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) for the following major Construction and Design projects throughout the second half of 2008 and into 2009. Please note that this is not necessarily a complete list of projects that will be issued during this time period, and all dates are estimates and subject to change at any time.
Third Quarter 2008
Permanent Sign System Rehabilitation, Early Package 1, Dulles Airport
| Description: The project will rehabilitate existing signs and replace signs at the terminal departures level, terminal arrivals level, and the daily parking connectors. The construction scope of work includes providing lighting requirements and electrical connections for backlit signs, removable message panels, and dynamic display signs at specified locations. | |

Fourth Runway and Associated Taxiways - Deicing and Support Facilities, Dulles Airport
| Description: This project will construct two facilities in support of the new north/south runway. A deicing facility will consist of a single story metal structure with a mezzanine personnel support area. Also included as part of this building will be a deicing truck loading area for glycol delivery/recovery and a glycol storage and blending area. The second facility is a support facility with various storage and maintenance functions. | |
