Description: The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will be hosting its 18th Annual Business Opportunity Seminar on November 5, 2008 at the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel. The event consists of a seminar and exhibit hall focusing on current and upcoming contracting opportunities with the Authority. New Projects

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has issued solicitations for the following projects within the past month:

RFP 1-08-C253: Permanent Sign System, Early Package 1, Dulles Airport

	Description: The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, tools, equipment, and supervision to construct the Permanent Sign System, Early Design Package 1 at Washington Dulles International Airport. The project includes interior signage required to improve wayfinding at Dulles Airport in keeping with the opening of the new airport train system in 2009. New illuminated signs and non-illuminated signs will be required at existing Concourses A, B, and Z, and the moving walkway tunnel between Concourse B and the Main Terminal. Gate renumbering will be required at Concourses A and B.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has recently issued Amendments for the following projects:

RFP 1-09-C002: Landscape Maintenance & Litter Removal Services, National Airport

	Description: The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, tools, equipment, and supervision to provide turf mowing, planting, application of fungicides and pesticides, and litter removal on the grounds of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
	Change: Amendment One was issued on September 15, 2008. Amendment Two was issued on September 18, 2008. The due date for proposals was extended to October 14, 2008.

Upcoming Opportunities - Two Week Forecast

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority anticipates issuing the following contracting opportunities within the next two weeks:

RFP 1-08-C260: HVAC Improvements, Shop II & Metal Shop, Dulles Airport

	Description: The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, tools, equipment, and supervision to improve HVAC systems in shop buildings at Washington Dulles International Airport.  Work includes installing a rooftop unit and vehicle exhausts at the Vehicle Maintenance Shop (Shop II) and removing existing and installing two new roof exhaust fans at the Metal Shop.
	Estimated Issue Date: October 9, 2008

RFP 1-08-C262: Computer Room Uninterruptible Power Supply Replacement, National Airport

	Description: The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, tools, equipment, and supervision to replace the existing 30kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) unit with a new 80kVA unit in the computer room at the Airports Authority's corporate office building at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
	Estimated Issue Date: October 10, 2008
