D2 Projects: AeroTrain Maintenance Facility
Maintenance Facility
The AeroTrain will have 29 vehicles in its initial fleet. A building located near the south end of the Airport will provide a place for the vehicles to be serviced or parked. It connects to the AeroTrain route via a branch from the main tunnel.
The facility is complete and the vehicles were delivered from Japan in several shipments beginning in 2007. Vehicle testing has begun and will continue throughout the tunnels and stations. After the AeroTrain opens to the public, the Maintenance Facility will continue to play a vital "behind the scenes" role in keeping the trains running smoothly.
Statistics about the AeroTrain Maintenance Facility:
- Date Completed: 2006
Construction Information:
- Design Contractor: HNTB Corporation
- Construction Contractor: Turner Construction Co.
