Tips for Picking Up Arriving Passengers at Dulles

Passengers arrive at the airport in the Main Terminal and exit the building on the Arrivals level.  The Arrivals level curb is located up the ramps from Baggage Claim.  Click here for Terminal Map.

Waiting in a vehicle at the curb next to the Main Terminal is prohibited. This area is for immediate loading and unloading only.

These parking options are closest to the Main Terminal, in order: Hourly Parking Lot, Daily Garages 1 & 2, Economy Parking.

You can also wait in your vehicle in the free Cell Phone Waiting Area for up to one hour until your passenger calls, then drive to the arrivals ramp for pickup.

You can meet passengers inside the airport on the Arrivals (Baggage Claim) level.  Greeting area locations:

  • Domestic arrivals - Passengers arrive near Baggage Claim #5, 8 and 11 at the glass doors. It is best to meet at a pre-selected location or at the baggage carousel for their flight.
  • International arrivals - Passengers arrive on their flight then board a mobile lounge which takes them to the International Arrivals Building to clear U.S. Customs. After claiming luggage they can be greeted in the Main Terminal near Baggage Claim #15. A seating area and flight status board is available there for greeters.

Contact your airline for information on how to meet an unaccompanied minor.
