TSA security checkpoint information update
Here are the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's latest rules for passengers boarding commercial aircraft in the United States:
PASSENGERS MAY BRING THESE ITEMS TO THE CHECKPOINT (Please remove from your carry-on bag and place in the gray bins provided, in plain view):

- Travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in ONE quart-size, clear plastic, zip-top bag
- Prescription liquid medications, baby formula and diabetic glucose treatments in excess of 3 ounces if these items are declared to the Transportation Security Officers at the security checkpoint
A simple way to remember this rule is "3-1-1"
- 3 ounce size (or smaller) containers of liquid or gel
- 1 quart-size, clear plastic, zip-top bag for those containers
- 1 bag per traveler, placed in the security bin
PASSENGERS MAY NOT BRING LIQUIDS, GELS, OR AEROSOLS TO THE CHECKPOINT IN EXCESS OF THE ABOVE ALLOWANCES, INCLUDING:
- Beverages
- Shampoo
- Suntan lotion
- Creams
- Toothpaste
- Hair gel
- Hair spray
- Liquid cosmetics
- Other items of similar consistency
SUCH ITEMS MAY BE TRANSPORTED IN CHECKED BAGGAGE
BEVERAGES AND OTHER ITEMS PURCHASED AFTER SECURITY MAY BE CARRIED ON TO THE AIRCRAFT
